The advertising was created by the New York office of Euro RSCG Worldwide, a unit of Havas, for the American Association of Blood Banks, America's Blood Centers and the American Red Cross, in conjunction with the Advertising Council.
The tagline for all ads is the same: "Saving the world isn't easy. Saving a life is. Just one pint of blood can save up to three lives."
Each ad also contains the words, "Give blood," with a stylized picture of a bandage with a pinprick of blood, plus the web address, bloodsaves.com, a site set up for the organizations' recruitment program. (By JANE L. LEVERE)

Don't deal with crap, unless it's imperative. Most of the time, even if it looks that way, it is not.
This includes crap per se, crap from other people and crap that one tends to produce as one goes along. And especially old, by-gone crap. Never dig it up.

Križi in težave programerskih nadobudnežev
Tole zgoraj mi je poslala Vesna, sodelavka na Mibi marketingu, nekega lepega dne, ko sem (spet) nekaj zrihtal na njenem čarunalniku. Ne vem, kaj je bilo, a gotovo je bilo pomembno in temu torej pritiče hvala :)
Kakorkoli, razlog za tale post je, da the empire strikes back!
Namreč, pri razvoju ene spletne strani v sužbli, kakor bi rekla prijateljica Mateja, sem naletel na zanimiv problem: skrbno sprogramirana ASP skripta je vztrajno vračala
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.
Ha! Kot ve vsak izkušen programer, je temu ponavadi vzrok šlamparija - pozabil nastaviti Write pravice (oz. attrib -r) na db folderju, znotraj katerega je baza. Tokrat ni bilo tako. Že prejšnji teden sem pri drugem projektu naletel na podobno težavo in ugotovil, da se folder permissions oz. konkretno Read-only ne da spremenit. Greš na folder, right-click, ododkljukaš Read-only, Apply, Ok, ponovno pogledaš in - zadeva je Read-only!
Prva misel je seveda kakšen trojanček, a toliko zaupanja v NAV(03!) pa že premorem, da se mi zdi hudooo čudno... Seveda lahko dodam, da je bila rešitev, ki jo je ponudil Microsoftov Help popolnoma neuporabna - neke spremembe registra ipd. itak ni delalo, ko sem poskusil. On to Google! Ki po nekaj fine-tuninga keywordov med drugim izpljune arhiviran thread na forumu od uporabnega in že poznanega sajta DevArticles (http://forums.devarticles.com/):
Permissions are not handled through IIS. They are handled by the OS. So, open up windows explorer, find the DB file, right click, ensure that the file's attributes are not set to read only. Then click the Security tab. Assign the IUSR_YourMachineName user full permissions.IUSR_YourMachineName is the username which IIS operates as. Keep this in mind for any future problems, as you'll often need to setup it's permission on folders/files, esp. if you do any file uploading projects.
No problemo, torej. Še drugje zvem, da je to pač fora WinXPjev, ki je do zdaj nisem opazil... doma očitno s tem nisem imel težav, v službi pa smo prešli na OknaXP pred kake pol leta in vmes so padali sajti v PHPju in razne druge zadeve, tako da se očitno s tem nisem srečal. Možno je tudi, da je read-only-manijo povzročil kakšen od redno inštaliravanih updateov.
A tu zgodbe še ni konec. Ko hočem izvesti zgoraj opisani postopek, ugotovim, da moji properties ne premore taba security... damn. Posumim, da je to pač še ena kvazi-user-friendly omejitev za inexperienced users, ki jih v Oknih mrgoli. Na istem threadu najdem tole:
