Let's talk UI design
Michael Hatscher writes, among other things, about surpassing monolithic, technology-, computer-, and application-centric user interface design towards "the humane approach" of tomorrow (or is it the day after?), thus making a deep cut into the unintermitted string of building software using the wrong perspective as an axiomatic core.
From his article Using User Interface Patterns as a Design Framework on www.user-experience-design.com:
Imagine a computing world that has got rid of monolithic applications – on the desktop, on the servers, everywhere. For every purpose, the best possible component can be chosen and just plugged into a framework supporting and living open standards. “Application development” means: business experts define the processes, and business architects select the appropriate components and parameters, following an approach as described above. Using an application design time much like Apple’s Automator, elements can be plugged together and auto-negotiate their interfaces and data exchanges.For an interesting comparison read this (and give a keen eye to some other stuff there as well) from the guys at Humanized.Part of this is true already. SAP’s NetWeaver platform is the first to use the term “applistructure”, a Forrester Research-coined term for the convergence of “application” and “infrastructure”. And SAP is not the only one on the market with a comparable offering for enterprise software. But on the desktop, much remains to be done. A concept for a basically document-centric approach to desktop computing was presented by Jef Raskin in his book “The Humane Interface”, contrasting it to the current (well, 20+ years old) “application-centric” approach. Raskin asks: Why force people to buy an office suite that is poorly integrated when they could rather buy the components they need – a text editor, a chart drawing component, etc. (Well, Apple tried to introduce this approach as “OpenDoc” in System 7.5 to 8.1, unfortunately, rather halfheartedly, and then killed it.) It would be up to the OS manufacturers to provide the necessary infrastructure. And it would be up to a great number of small software companies (Independent Software Vendors) to compete for the best possible components available for a given user need. This would create a whole new momentum on the market, out of which everyone would benefit – well, maybe everyone except for the companies producing office suites right now. But then, why not prove they’ve got all the experience to create the best competitive components?
And the fascinating thing is: It’s started to happen on the Web already. Basically, all the Web2.0 hype is about people composing their “information and application cockpits” tailored to their needs, based on an open infrastructure and publicly available components. And I guess that’s just the beginning.

Hikikomori
Prek nje, za katero sem sicer že slišal, a me je nanjo spomnila njegova omemba pogovora z njo, sem izvedel za njega (za katerega še nisem slišal) in njega (tudi zanj žal ne), ki sta skupaj naredila izredno zanimiv dokumentarec o pojavu Hikikomori, ki je pritegnil mojo pozornost tako s sociološkega stališča kot tudi zaradi naraščajočega interesa za Japonsko, ki bo, upam, kulminiral z obiskom dežele vzhajajočega sonca nekje v naslednjem letu (ako Shichi-fuku-jin da) in se do takrat zadovoljuje z nažiranjem s polnimi lonci japonske literature (npr. pred kratkim prebrani In the Miso Soup, Ryuja Murakamija, kjer tematika po sociološki plati ni jako daleč od omenjenih psiho-socio-fenomenov "umika iz družbe" ipd., ki jih žolčno in s presenetljivo marljivostjo producira sodobna japonska družba). In je prišel na TrapIdejo...
Kurc, če majo eni lohk MajsterPlane, sem si rekel, mam pa jaz lahko TrapIdeje™.
Še par barvnastorazličnih različic:
Seveda me je šele zdejle preshinl, ko je vse primerno in lično z-aploudkano, zakaj hudiča sem slikovino shranjeval kot jpge... Lahko se izgovorim na inercijo, glede na to, da sem predhodno fotošopirajoče štefnal po nečem drugem. Eh, slab izgovor.

Ka sam se šetka...
ali Danes je dan za peškanje;

je bil včeraj dan za ritodvig ob 12.00 (no, dejansko sem bil danes boljši le za 20 minut, sheesh), za dve Sobotni prilogi (prejšnotedensko in totedensko), City Magazine (če je pa zastojn!), pou od Kuksla sposojenega slovenskega tolovajskega filma, bizarne nočne zgodbe (tudi sposojene, a te od hitro-odraščajoče deklice) ter večerno vseslovensko bloženje, in se je dan zaključil z Ježkom Jožkom,
POTEM
je bila danes na sporedu druga polovica Haca ter neki posiljevalski ljudožerci, a v glavnem je bil 15. oktober predvsem
DAN ZA PEŠKANJE IN SLIKICE:

Rdeča je peškanje, zelena je buskanje (ja, buskanje! pač je bla že tema, pa hladno, pa se mi ni dal več hodt).
Vmes sem jako užival v okolgledanju (velik vidu) in odkrivanju skrivnosti vedno-bolj-ljubega-mi spodnjega Bežigrada, malo manj pogledov sem spravil tudi v telefot (telefon+fotoaparat, get it?! eh... fotkofon? oukej, kemrafoun), kakor se za počastitev Meseca fotografije in dan, posvečen obiskovanju večinoma fotografskih razstav, tudi spodobi:

KAJ ŠE?
Na mednarodni foto-razstavi na Gradu, imenovani Fotonični trenutki, sta bili za visitorje in charge dve kokljici, ki sta pecali enega dolgolasega francoskega turista. Morda sta hoteli narediti dober vtis, kajti ko sem pojamral, da imam s seboj samo kartico (majke mi, aj spouk d čruf), sem bil k slikam pripuščen gratis. Yeah za kokljice!
Aja, na gradu (v uni luknji zadajspodaj) sem se ustavil še na propagandno-kičasto-očarljivo-barvnosaturirani-pandasti razstavi o Chengduju na Kitajskem. Tako kolorirano, da sem po izhodu na plano kakih 15 minut videl le še v črno-beli tehniki.
Šel sem mimo fizične Ulice na blog 3, mislim celo, da sem videl avto parkiran pred bajto :) Pa sem se odločil, da ne bom motil nedeljskega spokoja s kakšnim zvonjenjem, trkobutanjem ali tuljenjem podoknic. Drugič. Sploh pa sem bil a man with a plan, rebel with a cause, skratka ciljno-usmerjen pešak.
V gradu Kodeljevo sem se zapletel v prijeten pogovor z Ido Hiršenfelder, ki je tam skupaj s Zhaom Shulinom pripravila razstavo Načrt naključja. Presenetil me je fiktivno-resničnostni Yan Shi, videl sem tudi še dve Rekonstrukciji Toma Brejca, kateremu sem ravno ta teden poslal pohvalno-čestitkovni mail za nekaj drugih Rekonstrukcij, ki sem jih prejšnji teden občudoval na razstavi NovaF v Umetnostni galeriji Maribor, kjer sem se ustavil, vračajoč se iz Ikee v Gradcu.
Prvič po doolgem času sem se peljal z Ljubljanskim mestnim busom. Je blo kr fajn in hitro. V nedeljo zvečer ipak ni nekega prometa. Še vedno se mi zdi 300 sitov velik; če prideš z enega konca Lj na drugega še niti ne, če bi bila pot krajša, pa kar.
Na koncu pa še en kao triptih, glede na to, da so bli pred kratkim neki popularni...
